Hotpoint Appliances started life in the early 1900’s. The first maching machine that Hotpoint built and sold under its own brand was in 1923 from a factory situated at Llandudno in North Wales.
In 1989 Hotpoint became part of a new division of GEC Group called ‘General Domestic Appliances’. This division include well known brands such as Creda, Cannon, Redring & Xpelair.
In 2001 Merloni Elettrodomestici from Italy bought 50% General Domestic Appliances adding to their existing brands Ariston, Indesit, Philco and Scholtes.
On the 1st Jan 2005 Merloni Elettrodomestici changed its name to Indesit Company.
In 2014 Whirlpool bought the entire Indesit group bringing both the Hotpoint and Indesit brands under their control and increasing Whirlpools status to the largest Domestic Appliance manufacture in the world.

Like every brand of appliance on the market today, they will develop faults.
Often your washing machine will detect the fault and display an error code either by flashing leds or if it has a digital display a code. The error code or fault code code be F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F7, F8, F9, F10, F11, F12, F13, F14, F15, F16, F17, F18. These codes can help to point you in the right direction.
For example; if your machine won’t drain then F11 may flash up or lights 1, 3 & 4 may be lit.
